Three Sisters Blue Mountains
The Three Sisters are an extraordinary rock formation on the north escarpment of the Jamison Valley. They are located close to the town of Katoomba and are one of the Blue Mountains' best known sites.
One Aboriginal dream-time legend has it that three sisters, 'Meehni', 'Wimlah' and 'Gunnedoo' lived in the Jamison Valley as members of a local tribe. They fell in love with brothers who they were not allowed to marry. This cause a tribal war and the sisters were turned to stone as protection. However they were not able to be turned back into women and have sat there ever since.

The easy Three Sisters walk, in Katoomba, offers some of the most well known views in Blue Mountains National Park, and takes you up close to the Three Sisters.
This family-friendly walk takes you past beautiful views of the Three Sisters, and rises nearly a kilometre above sea level.
The walk offers opportunities to experience a eucalypt forest, bird calls and fresh mountain air. The superb lyrebird and crimson rosellas are often seen in the bush. The easy walk also has amazing views of the Three Sisters and the beautiful Jamison Valley.
If you continue on you will come to the Lady Game lookout, for a closer view of the Three Sisters remarkable rock formation. A short but very steep set of stairs at the top of the Giant Stairway leads to Honeymoon Bridge, which connects to the first sister.
Echo Point Blue Mountains
Echo Point is a lookout about 2 kilometres south of Katoomba. The lookout offers a view to Three Sisters, Mount Solitary and the rock formation known as the Ruined Castle. It is the starting point for many beautiful walks and nature experiences in the Blue Mountains.
