Hunter Valley wine tours, without lifting a finger.
Picture it: your group, your own luxury bus, premium seated tastings at the region's best cellar doors, a cheese and produce platter for the ride home, and not one thing for you to organise. We collect you from anywhere you like, your home, your hotel, your Airbnb, the office, Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle or the Valley itself, and bring you home. You pick the spot, the price stays the same. Guided, all-inclusive, from $129 per person.

Quick reels from the Valley.
Hunter Valley wine tours done properly.
The best Hunter Valley wine tours from Sydney don't happen by accident. They happen when someone who knows the region, knows the cellar doors and knows how to look after a group plans the whole day for you. That has been us since 2016.
We run guided, all-inclusive winery days to Australia's oldest wine region, 2 hours north of Sydney, from $129 per person. Every tour includes premium seated tastings at 3 or more cellar doors, our partners Bimbadgen, Hope Estate and Emma's Cottage among 20-plus boutique favourites depending on your group and the season. No queues, no separate entry fees, no stress.
The cheese and produce platter loads onto the bus for the ride home. Your professional guide handles all the bookings, introductions and logistics. You just show up and have the best day.
Groups who want the bus without the guided package can book a private charter to the Hunter Valley instead. We run the 14, 18, 27 and 41-seater fleet all the way to Pokolbin for groups who have already sorted their own itinerary. Hunter Valley bus hire details here.

What the day actually looks like.
Every Hunter Valley wine tour is custom-curated by our local team. Here's what a standard all-inclusive day runs like:
Pickup from wherever suits you
We collect your group door-to-door, from home, your hotel, the office, Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle or anywhere in the Valley. Settle in, the drive is part of the fun.
First cellar door
A premium seated tasting, pre-booked for your group. No queues, no standing at a bar, no separate entry fee.
Second cellar door
Another seated tasting, often a boutique, family-run estate the big tour buses never reach.
Lunch at a dedicated venue
A proper sit-down lunch at a Hunter Valley restaurant or winery kitchen. Included on some packages, at your own expense on others, your guide books the right spot for your group.
Distillery or brewery
A spirit tasting at a local distillery or a craft-beer flight at a brewery to mix up the day. Most of our days include one.
Final cellar door, platter on the bus
One last seated tasting, then the gourmet cheese and produce platter is loaded onto the bus for the ride home.
Home, door to door
Dropped back exactly where we collected you, your home, your hotel, the office, Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle, Maitland or your Hunter Valley accommodation. Never just one central drop-off point. Wine in the boot optional, smiles guaranteed.
This is just an example. Every Urban Legends day is uniquely tailored to your group, the package you book, and the preferences you give us on the booking form: favourite grape varieties, must-see wineries, a distillery stop, a long lunch, dietary needs. Tell us what you are after and we build the day around it.
Australia's oldest wine region, two hours from Sydney.
The Hunter Valley is Australia's oldest wine region, with vines first planted back in the 1820s, and it sits about two hours north of Sydney. Around 150 cellar doors are scattered across the rolling vineyards, from tiny family-run boutiques to landmark estates with restaurants and concert lawns. It is the easiest premium wine escape from the city: close enough for a proper day out, special enough to feel a world away.
The Hunter is the spiritual home of Australian Semillon, a fresh, age-worthy white the region does like nowhere else on earth, and it turns out generous, earthy Shiraz alongside excellent Chardonnay and Verdelho. You do not need to be a wine buff to love a day here. Our guides pitch every tasting to your group, whether you are serious about wine or just there for a cracking day with your people.
The beating heart of the Hunter. The biggest concentration of cellar doors, restaurants and big-name estates, and where most of our days are spent.
Quieter and more scenic, full of boutique, family-run wineries and olive groves. A favourite for groups who want something a little off the beaten track.
Relaxed and leafy, home to some genuine hidden gems including our partner Emma's Cottage. Great for a long, lazy tasting.
Elevated vineyards with some of the best views in the Valley and serious wine to match. We add it in when the package and the group suit it.
After ten years and thousands of tours, we know which doors suit which groups, where the wine is pouring well this season, and how to string it all into one effortless day. That is the bit you cannot get from a map.
The wineries we actually visit.
We book the premium seated tastings before your group arrives. No walk-ins, no queues, no separate entry fee. Venues rotate based on your group and the season.
Plus dozens more across the Valley, including Brokenwood, Harkham Wines, Winmark Wines, Krinklewood, Vinden Wines, Moorebank Vineyard, River Flats Estate, Cael's Gate, Scarborough Wine Co, Margan Wines and Tower Estate, along with distilleries (Hunter Distillery, Small Mouth Vodka, Pokolbin Distillery), breweries (IronBark Hill Brewhouse, 4 Pines at the Farm) and food stops like Harrigan's Hunter Valley and Peter Drayton Wines. Your exact venues are confirmed at booking and tailored to your group.
Hunter Valley for every occasion.
Hens, bucks, birthdays, corporate days, wedding transport. We've done them all. Here's how each one works.
Private whole-bus experience for the group. Three or four cellar doors, tailored itinerary, cheese platter on the bus home. The 18-seater is the call for most hens groups. Book via Rezdy or email Jared for a bespoke quote.

Groups of 10 or more get the best rates. Private charter of a full luxury bus (7 to 57 seats) is also available for corporate groups, hens parties or weddings at a flat vehicle rate. Which Hunter Valley wineries do you visit?
Our Hunter Valley tours visit a rotating selection of 20-plus cellar doors including our partners Bimbadgen Estate, Hope Estate and Emma's Cottage, plus boutique favourites such as Audrey Wilkinson, Whispering Brook, Horner Wines, Krinklewood and Vinden Wines. We book premium seated tastings before you arrive so there are no queues and no separate entry fees. Your exact venues are confirmed at the time of booking and tailored to your group.
How long is the drive from Sydney to Hunter Valley?
Sydney CBD to Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley is roughly 2 hours to 2.5 hours via the M1 and New England Highway. The bus collects the group from a central Sydney meeting point, making the journey part of the experience. We roll through the vineyards by mid-morning so you maximise time at the cellar doors.
Can I do a hens party Hunter Valley wine tour?
Absolutely. Hunter Valley hens parties are one of our most popular tours. A private group gets the whole bus, a tailored cellar-door itinerary, premium seated tastings at 3 to 4 venues and a cheese platter on the bus ride home. Groups of 15 to 27 typically take the 18 or 27-seater. Book via the Rezdy tour page or email jared@urbanlegendstourco.com for a bespoke quote.
What is included in the Hunter Valley wine tour price?
Included: luxury bus transport from Sydney, professional local guide, premium seated tastings at 3 or more wineries, cheese and produce platter, all venue entry and tasting fees. Not included: lunch (we stop at a venue with restaurant options), any cellar door purchases and gratuities. The $129pp price covers the full curated day.
Is Hunter Valley wine tasting suitable for a corporate team day?
Yes. Corporate Hunter Valley wine tours are a popular team-building choice. We can accommodate groups of 10 to 57 guests across our fleet. A corporate day typically includes 3 seated tastings, a lunch break and a personalised itinerary. We provide a driver who knows the region well so your team focuses on the experience, not logistics. Email jared@urbanlegendstourco.com to discuss your group.
Where do you pick up from for Hunter Valley wine tours?
Anywhere you like, and the price is the same wherever you start. We collect your group door-to-door from any address you choose: your home, your hotel or Airbnb, your office or work site for corporate teams, Sydney CBD and all suburbs, the Central Coast, Newcastle and Maitland, or anywhere in the Valley itself. Same legendary tour, same guides, same buses, you just pick the spot. Email jared@urbanlegendstourco.com with your address and we will confirm the plan.
Can I hire a private bus to Hunter Valley without the guided tour?
Yes. If you have already booked the wineries yourself and just need transport, we offer pure charter hire of our 14, 18, 27 or 41-seater fleet. Sydney to Hunter Valley is a named long route, so it is priced as a full day or hourly rate (not the short airport transfer rate). See our Hunter Valley bus hire page or contact us at jared@urbanlegendstourco.com.
What grape varieties is the Hunter Valley known for?
The Hunter Valley is famous for Semillon, widely regarded as one of the world's great white wines and the region's signature, alongside bold Shiraz, plus Chardonnay and Verdelho. As Australia's oldest wine region, with vines dating to the 1820s, the Hunter does classic, age-worthy styles exceptionally well. Your guide tailors the cellar doors to what your group likes to drink.
Which parts of the Hunter Valley do your tours visit?
Most tours focus on Pokolbin and Broke Fordwich, the heart of the Hunter's cellar-door scene, with Lovedale and Mount View also on the menu depending on your package and preferences. These areas hold the best boutique and landmark wineries within an easy drive of each other, so you spend the day tasting, not travelling.
Can we add a distillery or brewery to the wine tour?
Yes. Plenty of groups mix in a craft brewery or a distillery spirit tasting alongside the wineries, and several of our packages already include them. We can tailor any private tour, just tell us your preferences on the booking form and we build the day around them.
Do you cater for dietary requirements on the platters and lunch?
Yes. Let us know any dietary needs, vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and so on, on the booking form and we arrange platters and lunch venues that look after everyone in the group.
How far in advance should we book a Hunter Valley wine tour?
The earlier the better, especially for weekends, long weekends and peak season in spring and the summer concert run, when popular dates book out weeks ahead. That said, get in touch any time and we will always try to make it happen, even at short notice.
We pick up absolutely everywhere.
This is a big one, so let us be crystal clear. We collect your group from literally any address, and the price is identical no matter where you start.
