Public tours available during the week
The Honest Truth: You can drive yourself. It's only 90 minutes from Sydney. But here's what you're in for:
The Parking Problem
Scenic World car park fills up fast on weekends and holidays. We've seen people circling for 30+ minutes. By the time they've parked and bought tickets, they're in a 45-minute queue for the Railway. We pre-book tickets and arrive when it opens. You walk straight on.
BYO = Tour Wins
If anyone in your group wants a drink with lunch (or on the coach), you need a designated driver. On our tours, everyone gets to enjoy themselves. Bring wine, beers, whatever you like.
Season by Season
What About Rain?
Don't bail on a rainy forecast. Some of our best days have been when it's misty — clouds rolling through the valleys, Three Sisters appearing out of the fog. You can't get that on a clear day.
We only cancel if it's genuinely dangerous (severe storms, bushfire risk). If that happens, full refund.
It's Cooler Than Sydney
The mountains sit at 1,000+ metres — expect it to be 5-10°C cooler than the city. If Sydney's 30°C, Echo Point might be 22°C. In winter when Sydney's 15°C, up here can be 5-8°C with frost. Bring layers — even in summer.
Avoiding the Crowds
- ✓ Weekdays always quieter than weekends
- ✓ Early morning — we hit Scenic World when it opens for a reason
- ✓ Outside school holidays if you can swing it
- ✓ Winter (Jun-Aug) is the quietest
Our itinerary is built to dodge the crowds — Scenic World first thing, Featherdale at the end when everyone else has left.

ABOUT THE BLUE MOUNTAINS
Why Are They Called the Blue Mountains?
Stand at any lookout and you'll see it — a blue haze sitting over the valleys. It's not fog. The mountains are covered in eucalyptus forest, and those gum trees release oil into the air. When sunlight hits it, the whole landscape goes blue. The more trees, the bluer the view. Pretty cool actually.
UNESCO World Heritage Listed
The Greater Blue Mountains got UNESCO World Heritage status in 2000. Over 1 million hectares of protected wilderness across seven national parks. It's one of the largest temperate eucalyptus forests on earth — 91 species of gum tree, plus ancient Wollemi Pines that were only discovered in 1994 (they've been around since the dinosaurs).
The sandstone cliffs and gorges you'll see from Echo Point? Hundreds of millions of years in the making.
Aboriginal Country
This has been Gundungurra and Darug country for over 22,000 years. Sacred sites, rock art, and Dreamtime stories throughout these valleys.
The Three Sisters at Echo Point are part of one of the most well-known Dreamtime stories. Three sisters from the Katoomba tribe — Meehni, Wimlah, and Gunnedoo — turned to stone by an elder to protect them from a bunyip. He planned to reverse the spell but was killed in battle. The sisters have been frozen in stone ever since.
Your guide will share this story properly when we're there — it hits different standing in front of them.

⛰️BLUE MOUNTAINS HIGHLIGHTS⛰️
Three Sisters & Echo Point
The most photographed landmark in the Blue Mountains. Three towering sandstone pillars rising from the Jamison Valley, formed over millions of years and steeped in Aboriginal Dreamtime legend. Your guide shares the story of three sisters from the Katoomba tribe turned to stone.
Lincoln's Rock / Kings Tableland
A dramatic flat rock platform perched on the edge of a sheer cliff. Unobstructed 180-degree views across Jamison Valley to Mt Solitary and beyond. This is where you get that jaw-dropping photo — no fences, no crowds, just you and the vastness of the Australian bush.
Wentworth Falls
One of the most spectacular waterfalls in the Blue Mountains — a 187-metre cascade dropping into the Valley of the Waters. Our guided bushwalk takes you along clifftop tracks through eucalyptus forest to multiple viewing platforms.
Cahills Lookout
Our secret weapon. Overlooking Megalong Valley and the Blue Mountains wine country, this is a spot most big tour companies don't bother with. We reckon it's unmissable — sweeping views, usually uncrowded, and stunning at any time of day.
Scenic World
Home to the Scenic Railway (world's steepest passenger railway at 52°), the glass-floor Skyway suspended 270 metres above the valley, the Cableway, and the Rainforest Walkway through ancient Jurassic-era forest. An absolute must-do for first-timers.
Featherdale Wildlife Park
One of Australia's best wildlife experiences. Hand-feed kangaroos, get up close with koalas (photo opportunities available), and meet wombats, Tasmanian devils, echidnas, dingoes, and native birds. More intimate than the big zoos, better encounters.
Leura & Katoomba Villages
Charming mountain villages with tree-lined streets, art galleries, antique shops, bookstores, and excellent cafes. A world away from Sydney's pace. We include time to wander and soak up the vibes.
Echo Point Look Out
Echo Point lookout in Katoomba is on the traditional land of the Gundungurra and Darug people. As it is located right on the edge of the escarpment, it has excellent views of the Jamison Valley and the Three Sisters.
From here it is possible to embark on many great walks, from the easy walks to the Three Sisters to the more challenging Giant Stairway that leads you down almost 1,000 stairs to the valley floor.
Three Sisters Blue Mountains
The Three Sisters are an extraordinary rock formation on the north escarpment of the Jamison Valley. They are located close to the town of Katoomba and are one of the Blue Mountains' best known sites.
One Aboriginal dream-time legend has it that three sisters, 'Meehni', 'Wimlah' and 'Gunnedoo' lived in the Jamison Valley as members of a local tribe. They fell in love with brothers who they were not allowed to marry. This cause a tribal war and the sisters were turned to stone as protection. However they were not able to be turned back into women and have sat there ever since.
Katoomba Falls
The Katoomba Falls is located close to Echo Point near Katoomba on the Kedumba River, and is amongst the most famous waterfalls in the the Blue Mountains region. It is within walking distance from the Three Sisters and other popular sites. The Undercliff Track, from the Furber Steps, can be used to access the first landing of the waterfall.
Honey Moon Bridge
The easy Three Sisters walk, in Katoomba, offers some of the most well known views in Blue Mountains National Park, and takes you up close to the Three Sisters.
This family-friendly walk takes you past beautiful views of the Three Sisters, and rises nearly a kilometre above sea level.
The walk offers opportunities to experience a eucalypt forest, bird calls and fresh mountain air. The superb lyrebird and crimson rosellas are often seen in the bush. The easy walk also has amazing views of the Three Sisters and the beautiful Jamison Valley.
If you continue on you will come to the Lady Game lookout, for a closer view of the Three Sisters remarkable rock formation. A short but very steep set of stairs at the top of the Giant Stairway leads to Honeymoon Bridge, which connects to the first sister.
Echo Point Blue Mountains
Echo Point is a lookout about 2 kilometres south of Katoomba. The lookout offers a view to Three Sisters, Mount Solitary and the rock formation known as the Ruined Castle. It is the starting point for many beautiful walks and nature experiences in the Blue Mountains.
Featherdale Wildlife Park
Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park is an Australian zoo in Doonside, west of the Sydney CBD. It specialises in Australian native wildlife and birds, as well as reptiles and marsupials. The park offers opportunities to pet a Koala, hand feed a Kangaroo, and meet Australian animals in a bush setting.
Govetts Leap
Govetts Leap lookout offers incredible views over the Blue Mountains, including sandstone escarpments, sheer cliff walls, the deep canyons of the Grose Valley, and tall waterfalls.
The magnificent waterfall drops 180m to the base of the cliff.
Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah
The Blue Mountains Botanic Garden is a showcase of local and imported cool climate plants and alpine rainforest, over 28 hectares of curated garden and a further 244 hectares of wilderness sits inside the UNESCO World Heritage Area. It is the only Botanic Gardens in Australia located in a heritage listed area. It offers a cafe, and a variety of garden events and walks.
Blue Mountains Giant Stairway
This challenging walking track from Echo Point lookout to Scenic World via Giant Stairway gives the opportunity to take in amazing views across the valley. For the fit and those looking for a challenge, a day is in store, with magnificent sights, fresh mountain air and unique history. Bring a picnic, or snacks, and water and enjoy a full day out.
Take in the scenic vista before descending the valley via the 800-plus steel and stone steps, originally constructed in 1909. View the fabulous Three Sisters from the ground up. Then enjoy an easier path along Federal Pass to Katoomba Falls.
Evans Look Out Blue Mountains
Evans Lookout Overlooks the sandstone cliffs of the Grose River Valley, the lookout is also an access point for pedestrian access to the valley floor. Nearby walks include the Grand Canyon and trails to Govetts Leap lookout. A spectacular place for a rest and a photo on one of our blue mountains guided tours.
Ruined Castle Walking Track
Ruined Castle is a fantastic 4km Hike for the slightly more adventurous. We recommend travelling with one of our experienced guides.
Heading down the Golden Stairs entry point all the way to the base of mountain cliff. This is a very steep descent/ascent but totally worth it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long is the Blue Mountains tour?
Full day — approximately 10 hours. We depart Sydney CBD at 7am and return around 5pm.
What size are the groups?
Small to medium — between 14 and 41 guests depending on the vehicle. We never run cattle-class 50+ seat coaches. Private tours can be any size from 14 upwards.
Do you run tours every day?
Public tours run Mondays and Wednesdays (Fridays coming soon). Private group tours run any day of the week.
What happens if it rains?
We run tours in all weather — the Blue Mountains are stunning in rain, mist, and sunshine. Misty days create incredible atmosphere. We only cancel in extreme weather conditions (full refund provided).
How far is the Blue Mountains from Sydney?
About 90km west of Sydney CBD — approximately 1.5 hours by coach depending on traffic. We depart early (7am) to maximise your time in the mountains.
Is the Blue Mountains worth visiting?
100%. UNESCO World Heritage listed, 1 million+ hectares of wilderness, ancient rock formations, waterfalls, wildlife — it's one of Australia's must-see spots and only 90 minutes from Sydney.
What's the best time of year to visit the Blue Mountains?
Every season has something going for it. Spring for wildflowers and waterfalls. Summer for bushwalks and long days. Autumn for the colours. Winter for moody mist and fewer crowds. We run tours year-round.
Pricing & Booking
Why are you cheaper than tours on Viator and TripAdvisor?
Simple — we don't pay 20-30% commission to booking platforms. You book direct with us, and that saving goes straight to you. Same premium experience, sharper price.
What's the difference between Base Tour and Full Package?
Base Tour ($95) includes all lookouts, bushwalks, and village time. Full Package ($199) adds Scenic World, Featherdale Wildlife Park, and cafe lunch — and saves you $21 vs booking add-ons separately.
Do kids get a discount?
Yes. Kids 4-17 are reduced rate ($60 base / $159 full package). Under 4s go completely free.
Is there a group discount?
Yes — groups of 10+ automatically get $10pp off all pricing.
What's your cancellation policy?
We don't offer refunds for cancellations. If something comes up (illness, emergency), we can provide credit toward a future booking. Date changes are possible with reasonable notice.
Food & Drink
What's included in the cafe lunch add-on?
You choose off the menu at a proper cafe in Leura or Katoomba. Options include burgers, wraps, salads, fish & chips, pasta, and more. All dietary requirements catered for — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, halal, allergies. One drink included (soft drink, juice, coffee, or tea).
What if I don't add the lunch package?
No stress — you'll have free time in the village to grab your own food. Plenty of excellent cafes, bakeries, and takeaway options.
Can I bring my own food and drinks?
Absolutely. BYO is welcome on all tours. Bring whatever you like for the journey.
The Experience
How difficult is the bushwalk?
Moderate. The Wentworth Falls walk is 60-90 minutes with some stairs and uneven ground. We adjust pace to group fitness and offer half-point turnaround options for anyone less mobile. No one gets left behind.
Is this tour suitable for kids?
Yes — kids love Scenic World (especially the Railway) and Featherdale. The bushwalk is manageable for most ages. Under 4s go free.
What about wheelchair access or mobility issues?
Please contact us to discuss your specific needs. Several lookouts are accessible, but the bushwalk has stairs and uneven terrain. Scenic World has wheelchair-accessible options. We're happy to customise.
What should I wear?
Comfortable enclosed walking shoes (not thongs or sandals), layers (the mountains are 5-10° cooler than Sydney), and sun protection. We recommend a light jacket even in summer.
Why do you do Scenic World first and Featherdale last?
Local knowledge from 9 years of running these tours. The big companies all do Featherdale first, meaning Scenic World is packed by mid-morning. We flip it — Scenic World right when it opens (no queues), Featherdale in the afternoon when crowds have thinned. Same attractions, way better experience.
Private Tours
Can I book a private tour for less than 14 people?
Yes — contact us for a custom quote. We can accommodate smaller private groups at adjusted pricing.
What's included in a private tour?
Same pricing as public tours, but you get your own vehicle, your own dedicated guide, fully customised itinerary, pickup from anywhere in Sydney, and your choice of day.
Is there a weekend surcharge for private tours?
Yes — +15% for Saturday and Sunday bookings.
Blue Mountains Specific
Can you see kangaroos in the Blue Mountains?
Wild kangaroos are around but not guaranteed. If seeing roos is a must, add Featherdale (+$38pp) — you can hand-feed them and get right up close.
Can you see koalas in the Blue Mountains?
Koalas are pretty rare in the wild (they're nocturnal and well-camouflaged). Featherdale is your best bet — face-to-face with koalas, photo ops available (~$30 at the park).
What is the Three Sisters Blue Mountains?
Three massive sandstone rock pillars at Echo Point, rising 922m above sea level. They're the most iconic landmark in the Blue Mountains, part of an Aboriginal Dreamtime legend about three sisters from the Katoomba tribe turned to stone.
How steep is the Scenic Railway?
52 degrees — world's steepest passenger railway. Steeper than most ski slopes. The 310-metre descent takes about 2 minutes and it's a bit of a rush.
Is the Blue Mountains Skyway scary?
It's a cable car 270 metres above the valley floor with a glass floor panel. If heights aren't your thing, you can stand on the solid sections. Most people find it more exciting than scary — the views are unreal.
How long is the bushwalk?
60-90 minutes at Wentworth Falls depending on group pace. Clifftop tracks, stairs, multiple lookouts. We do half-way turnaround options if anyone needs it.
