The dramatic view of the bridge, the harbour, and the nearby Sydney Opera House is an iconic image of Sydney, and Australia itself. The bridge is nicknamed "The Coathanger" because of its arch-based design.
Sydney Opera House Is one of the 20th century's most famous and distinctive buildings.
Designed by Danish architect Jørn Utzon, the building was formally opened on 20 October 1973 after Utzon's 1957 selection as winner of an international design competition. On 28 June 2007, the Sydney Opera House became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spectacular from a distance, even better up close. One of the most iconic buildings in the world – the Sydney Opera House is an architectural masterpiece and vibrant performance space.

Barrangarroo – is located on the north-western edge of the Sydney centre and the southern end of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is part of the territory of the Cadigal people, the traditional owners of the Sydney city region. On the edge of Sydney Harbour, the vibrant area is named after a powerful 18th century Aboriginal woman. Barangaroo Reserve, a landscaped park with 75,000 native trees and shrubs and thousands of sandstone blocks, mostly extracted on-site. An arts, performance and festival space, is located underneath the headland near Nawi Cove.
Lady Macquarie’s Chair - is an exposed sandstone rock cut into the shape of a bench, on a peninsula in Sydney Harbour. It was hand carved by convicts in 1810, for Elizabeth Macquarie, the wife of Major-General Lachlan Macquarie, Governor of New South Wales. The peninsula itself is named Mrs Macquarie's Point, and is part of The Domain, near the Royal Botanic Gardens.

What is a private Sydney tour with Urban Legends?
It's your own bus and driver for the day, and an itinerary written for your group only. No ticket, no strangers, no fixed loop. We pick you up from your hotel, office, cruise terminal or the airport, and the day runs to your pace, your lunch and your list.
Most of the groups who book us are visitors: inbound tour operators, overseas travel groups, delegations, families with grandparents along, and seniors and community clubs. They want the Opera House and Bondi, and they also want someone who knows where a coach can actually stop, how long Bondi deserves, and when to get to the lookout. That part is our job.

The harbour
Start here and the rest of the day falls into place. The harbour icons are close together, so the trick is the order and the timing, not the distance.
- Mrs Macquarie's ChairOur usual first stop: the Opera House and the Bridge in one frame, a few steps from the coach. Then we let the coach go round to the Opera House while you walk through the Royal Botanic Garden to meet it. No walking back.
- Sydney Opera HouseOutside, it's the photo everyone came for. Inside, it's a guided tour booked direct with the Opera House, split across two tour times for a big group. Be there ten minutes early: a late group loses its slot.
- The RocksSandstone laneways and the city's oldest pubs. We usually give groups an hour and a half here to find their own lunch.
- Pier 1, Walsh Bay and BarangarooTwo Bridge angles in one stop: from the wharf, then from the grassy hill underneath. A client's photographer showed us that one. Barangaroo Reserve's native gardens are next door.
- The Art Gallery of NSWFree entry and a good plan B if the weather turns. There's no coach parking, so it's a front-door drop and your driver waits nearby.
- The Manly ferryThe best harbour cruise for the price of a ferry ticket. You cross past the Opera House while the coach drives round to meet you at Circular Quay.
The eastern suburbs and coast
The drive itself is half the point: out through Double Bay and Rose Bay, around to the harbour's mouth, then down to the ocean beaches.
- The Gap, Watsons BaySandstone cliffs where the harbour meets the Pacific. Allow about 30 minutes, and we keep everyone behind the barriers. Fish and chips at Watsons Bay is right there.
- Milk Beach and the Hermitage ForeshoreOne of our favourite secrets. A short harbour walk in Vaucluse with the whole city skyline across the water, and a bus zone that makes it a practical stop, not just a nice idea.
- Bondi BeachCoach parking is tight at Bondi, so we set down, agree a pickup time and come back for you. Ninety minutes covers a walk on the sand, photos and a coffee.
- Rose Bay and Double BayA slow scenic drive past the harbour mansions, or a stop at Rose Bay if your group fancies a paddle.
The city and the inner west
Where Sydney actually lives. Good for a second day, the morning before a flight, or a group that has already ticked off the icons.
- Haymarket, the QVB and Sydney Tower EyeChinatown's food, the Queen Victoria Building's arcades, and the city from the top of the tower. An easy afternoon close to most CBD hotels.
- Glebe foreshore and Blackwattle BayA flat waterfront walk under the Anzac Bridge towards the fish market. Quiet, local and a great photo.
- NewtownTerraces, street art and King Street's cafes. The walls change all the time, which is half the fun.
- Paddington and Kings CrossVictorian terraces, Oxford Street and the Cross on the way back from the beaches.
- Featherdale Wildlife ParkOut west near Blacktown, for the koala and kangaroo photo. Flat paths the whole way, and it opens early enough to do first thing on the way to the Blue Mountains.

How much does a private Sydney bus tour cost?
It's priced per vehicle, not per person, so the more of you share the bus, the less it costs each. We quote every day on its own, because a 12-person family day and a 41-seat operator group with a guide and an Opera House tour are very different days.
Four things move the price:
- The vehicle. Sized to your group, from 14 seats up to a 57-seat coach.
- The length of the day. A sightseeing day is quoted as a full day, from your first pickup to the last drop-off.
- The day of the week. Saturdays and public holidays are quoted accordingly.
- What you add. A guide, tickets, lunches and evening transfers are itemised, so you can see exactly what you're paying for.

Can we hire a private bus for a Sydney tour, and what sizes are available?
Yes. Every tour we run is private: your group has the vehicle and driver to itself. We run 14, 18, 27 and 41-seat vehicles, 53 and 57-seat coaches subject to availability, and several vehicles together for bigger groups. Tell us your numbers and we'll match the size, with room for luggage on airport days.
How much does a private Sydney bus tour cost?
It's priced per vehicle, not per person, and quoted for your exact day. The main drivers are the vehicle size, the length of the day (a sightseeing day is quoted as a full day), the day of the week and extras like a guide or tickets. A $200 deposit secures the date. How is a private tour different from a hop-on hop-off bus?
A hop-on hop-off bus follows a fixed loop, with a ticket per person and a seat shared with whoever else gets on. A private tour is your group only: we pick you up where you're staying, go where you want in the order that makes sense, and wait while you explore. It suits groups, families and anyone who'd rather not queue for the next bus.
Are your private Sydney tours suitable for seniors?
Yes, and we run them often. We plan shorter walks, stops with easy footpaths, regular breaks and a relaxed lunch, and your driver helps with the step on and off. For a guest on a mobility scooter, Featherdale, Echo Point and Scenic World's Skyway and Cableway all work; the Scenic Railway is too steep. Clubs can also see our seniors and community group outings.
What's the best way to see Sydney in a day with a group?
Start early at Mrs Macquarie's Point for the Opera House and Harbour Bridge view, spend late morning around The Rocks and the Opera House, then head east through Rose Bay to The Gap and finish at Bondi. On your own bus that's one comfortable loop with no transfers, timed around set-down points a coach can actually use.
Where can you pick us up?
Anywhere in Sydney: CBD and airport hotels, offices, Sydney Airport and the cruise terminals at Circular Quay and White Bay. Coaches can't wait at the airport kerb, so the coach holds nearby and the group texts the driver once everyone has their bags; it's there in about seven minutes. How do luxury minicoaches differ from standard tour buses?
A minicoach seats 14 to 27, so it handles narrow streets and small set-down bays in places like Watsons Bay and The Rocks, and a smaller group moves faster. A full-size coach suits bigger groups and long days out of the city. Ours are luxury spec, and we choose the size for your route as well as your numbers.
What are the best day trips from Sydney by bus?
The Blue Mountains for the Three Sisters, Scenic World and Leura. The Hunter Valley for wine. The Southern Highlands for Bowral and cool-climate cellar doors. Each runs as a private day on your own bus. Further out, Canberra and the coast work well as part of a multi-day trip.
Can we add a show, a harbour cruise or lunch to the tour?
Yes. We book Opera House guided tours, group lunches, dinner cruises from King Street Wharf and evening show transfers, and slot them into the day so the timing works. Tickets and meals are itemised in your quote. If you'd rather spend longer on the water, we also run private harbour yacht charters.
