The Brief And The Proposal

Send the headcount, the date, the hours and what the day has to achieve. You get back the vessels that genuinely fit, what each costs per hour and the catering options, written up so it can go straight in front of a budget holder.

Pre-Boarding And Set Up

On the vessels that list pre-access you board before your people do. That is when the catering is laid out, the name badges go on the table and any screen or PA is set and tested, so nobody is chasing a cable in front of a client.

The Working Half, Then The Rest

Most corporate charters front-load the formal part: the briefing, the awards, the client presentation, done early while everyone is fresh. Then the boat runs the landmarks and the day turns into lunch and conversation.

You come alongside at the time on the runsheet, because a work function has an afternoon to get back to. Afterwards there is one tax invoice covering the charter, the catering and the coach transfer, with your PO number on it.

Step 3, the harbour hours. The landmarks do the work a function room never does, which is most of the reason a client says yes to this instead of a boardroom.

You charter the whole vessel, by the hour. The rate on each card below buys that boat, its skipper and its crew for one hour. Your company has the vessel to itself. There is no shared cruise, no seat allocation and nobody else's function on the other deck, which matters considerably more when clients are aboard than it does on any other kind of booking.

Weekdays are the quiet end of this fleet. Saturdays between October and March go first across every vessel, so a midweek corporate charter is both easier to secure and easier to plan around. A Tuesday lunch on the water is genuinely available at short notice in a way a Saturday is not.

Minimum charter length varies by vessel and by date. Most corporate bookings sit between three and four hours, which is long enough for the formal part, the landmarks and a proper lunch without eating the whole working day. Payment terms, the deposit and the balance date are set out in writing on your proposal before anything is committed, and a certificate of currency is available on request.

Corporate yacht events on Sydney Harbour.

Corporate yacht events, corporate boat hire and a corporate yacht charter are the same booking. Whichever way you searched for it, you are doing one thing: taking a whole vessel privately, by the hour, with the skipper and the crew already aboard, and putting your people on it.

There is no version of this where somebody is handed the keys. Every vessel here comes with its skipper, so nobody from your company is responsible for the boat, which is usually the first question a risk team asks and the last one anybody thinks to answer.

The four events this fleet actually gets booked for

Client entertainment. A small group, a good lunch and three hours where a client is not looking at their phone. MV Highlander from $475 per hour is the usual answer, because the boat is small enough that one conversation holds the whole deck.

Team building and staff days. Either the regatta, where the team is split across yachts and raced, or the catamaran if the day is meant to be a reward rather than a challenge.

The one distinction that does matter

Private versus shared. Everything on this page is private. Your company has the vessel to itself, there is no seat allocation, and there is nobody else's function on the other deck.
