Hotel pickup, Surfers Paradise
Whole group staying in one tower, so one pickup point. Boarded and rolling by 11:15.
Golf, two hours in the bays
A driving-range venue about half an hour north of Surfers. Activity first, while everyone is still sharp and competitive.
Brewery lunch, mid-coast
Lunch and a tasting paddle, with wine and spirits for anyone who is not a beer drinker. Dietaries were flagged at booking and handled by the venue before the group arrived.
Second brewery, southern end
Last stop, biggest vibe, and a venue that takes a full-size coach without any trouble.
Back to the door
Tour concluded at 5pm, everyone home before six, with the night still ahead of them.

Why that day worked
The activity went first. Golf at 11:30 rather than 3pm, so it was actually a contest instead of a shambles. Lunch was locked in with the brewery, not left to chance at 1:30 on a Saturday. And it finished at a sensible hour, which is what a bucks group actually wants: the organised part done, the night still theirs.

Most Gold Coast bucks groups land on the 24 or 27-seater. Under 16 of you, the 16-seater is the entry point. Over 39, we run a combination rather than squeezing anyone in.

This is the single thing groups get wrong most often, and they usually get it wrong by picking the destination before they have counted the travel. Three honest rules of thumb:
Gold Coast if the group is staying on the Gold Coast. Everything is 20 to 40 minutes apart, the venues take a coach, and you get the most stops per hour of anywhere up here.
Brisbane if the group is flying into Brisbane or staying in the city. Running a Brisbane group down to the Coast and back burns two hours of a day you are paying for.
Byron as a deliberate full day out, not as a side trip bolted onto a Gold Coast plan.
What does a Gold Coast bucks bus actually cost?
It depends on three things and nothing else: how many of you there are, how long you need the bus, and what day of the week it is. A Saturday costs more than a Tuesday. A full day costs less per hour than a half day.

How big a bus do we really need?
Count the group, then add nobody. We seat the whole group properly or we send a bigger bus. If you are 19, you are on a 27-seater, not squeezed onto an 18.
Is Byron worth it from the Gold Coast?
Often yes, and we run it regularly. It is about an hour south, and it buys you a completely different day: Byron breweries, the hinterland, a town that does not feel like the Gold Coast at all.
Where we will talk you out of it: if the group only has a half day, or if the plan is a late finish in Byron with a long run home. It works best as a committed full day.
The one nobody tells you: the border moves the clock
Queensland does not run daylight saving. New South Wales does, from early October to early April. Byron Bay is in New South Wales, the Gold Coast is in Queensland, so for roughly half the year Byron is an hour ahead of where you got on the bus.
That is not trivia, it is the thing that ruins a Byron day. Your 2pm brewery booking in Byron is 1pm on your phone back at the hotel. Groups turn up an hour late, or burn an hour early, and blame the traffic. We book Byron venues in Byron time and put both clocks on the run sheet, and we will say it out loud on the phone, because it catches people every single summer.

Can we drink on the bus?
On a private charter where you have booked your own venues, yes, in moderation, with written approval at booking. On a package where we book the venues, no, because the venues hold us responsible for how guests arrive. Everyone stays seated while the bus is moving.
How far ahead should we book?
Saturdays between September and December go first, so four to eight weeks out is comfortable. We do take last-minute work when a vehicle is free, it just limits which one you get.
What happens if our numbers change?
Tell us and we adjust. If the group grows past the vehicle we have held, we move you up rather than squeeze anyone in. If it shrinks, the vehicle usually stays the same, since the rate is per bus, not per person.
Do we need to book the venues ourselves?
For a charter, yes, and most groups prefer it. For a package, no, we book the venues, the tastings and the activity and you turn up. Both work, they are just priced differently.
Is there a deposit?
From $200 to hold the date, with the balance due before the day. Card payments carry a 1.6% surcharge, bank transfer does not.
Can you pick up from more than one address?
Yes, though every extra stop costs roughly twenty minutes of your day. If the group is spread out we will usually suggest one meeting point and tell you honestly what the alternative costs in time.
What size bus do we need?
Count the group and we seat all of them. Sixteen through 61 seats up here, and if you are 19 you go on a 24-seater rather than being squeezed onto a 16.
