First time to the snow? You're in good hands

Premium snow tours done properly.

There is nothing quite like that first breath of crisp alpine air, the crunch of fresh snow underfoot, looking out across the Australian Alps as the morning sun hits the peaks. That feeling of pure freedom before your first run of the day. This is what we live for, and it is exactly what we have built with Urban Legends snow trips.

We run premium 3 and 4 day snow tours from Sydney, Wollongong and Canberra to Perisher in the Snowy Mountains, NSW. That is Australia's largest ski resort, over 3,000 acres of terrain in the heart of Kosciuszko National Park. But let us be clear about what premium means here: a private Jindabyne lodge (not an overcrowded dorm), proper hot meals (not disappointing food), modern luxury coaches (not rattling old buses), daytime arrivals (not stumbling in after midnight), and separate family and social zones so everyone gets the trip they came for.

Never seen snow before? Never skied or snowboarded? Heaps of our guests are complete beginners, including families with kids touching snow for the first time. You do not have to ski, snow play with snowmen, snowball fights and tobogganing is a brilliant day on its own. Perisher has perfect beginner terrain, gentle slopes and magic carpet lifts. We sort your gear hire and help you book lessons. No judgement, just good vibes.

Already a confident rider? You are sorted too. Jared has been running these trips since 2016 and knows every square inch of the mountain, from the best beginner slopes to the secret powder stashes only locals know. Yes, there are cheaper options out there. There is a reason they are cheaper. We are the alternative to the midnight-arrival, terrible-food, everyone-crammed-together budget trip.

Ready when you are. See the 2026 dates and pricing below, or email Jared to talk it through.

Good to know

Snow tour questions.

Everything you need before you round up the crew. Still wondering something? Just hit reply to any email and ask.

Are lift passes included?
No. Perisher and Thredbo require all guests to book and pay for lift passes directly with the resort. This is how every Australian ski resort operates, no tour operator can include lift passes. We send you the links and show you how to buy online, download the pass to your phone and walk straight to the lifts with no queue.
Are lessons included?
No. Lessons are booked through the Perisher or Thredbo ski school. We recommend an 11am start or later so there is a buffer for travel and time to get settled. We will point you to the best beginner areas.
Why can't you include lift passes?
It is not our choice. The resorts require lift passes to be booked directly. Every Australian snow tour operator is in the same boat. We make it painless by sending the links and walking you through it.
How do I skip the lift pass queues?
Buy your pass online at perisher.com.au or thredbo.com.au, download it to your phone, and go straight to the lifts. We send the links and walk you through it so you never queue at a ticket window.
What time should I book lessons?
11am or later. That gives a buffer for any travel delays, time to get your bearings, grab a coffee and ease into the day. It is the most relaxed start for beginners.
How far is Sydney to Perisher?
It is roughly 470km and a 5 to 6 hour drive. Our coaches handle the alpine roads and the chains while you relax. Wollongong and Canberra pickups join the same route.
First time to the snow, is this trip for me?
Yes. Heaps of our guests are first-timers, including families with young kids. You do not have to ski, snow play is a brilliant day on its own. Perisher has gentle beginner slopes and magic carpet lifts, and we help you sort gear and lessons.
Can I bring toddlers or young kids?
Yes. We run family and private bunk room options so your group can keep to yourselves, and the kids love the snow play. Low season is quieter and cheaper, which suits families and beginners.
Why are you more expensive than budget snow operators?
You get a better experience. Daytime arrivals instead of stumbling in after midnight, proper hot meals, a private Jindabyne lodge instead of an overcrowded dorm, separate family and social zones, and modern luxury coaches. Read the reviews of the cheaper trips, you get what you pay for.
Is there a return guest or group discount?
Yes. Groups of 10 or more get a better per-person rate on Sydney and Wollongong departures, and returning guests get a discount too. Once a legend, always a legend. The group rate does not apply to Canberra pickups.
What meals are included?
The 3 day tour includes 2 breakfasts, 2 dinners and a Sunday pub lunch at The Man from Snowy River Pub. The 4 day Sydney and Wollongong tour includes 3 breakfasts, 3 dinners and the Sunday pub lunch. The 4 day Canberra tour includes 2 breakfasts, 2 dinners and the Sunday pub lunch. Mountain lunches and any extra drinks are not included.
Can you drink alcohol on the trip?
Yes. There is a licensed bar at the Jindabyne basecamp, plus a fire pit and a movie room. Have a drink, no one has to be the designated driver.
